The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust formulary is managed by the trust's Drugs & Therapeutics Committee. All drugs are assessed by the committee for their efficacy, safety, cost-effectiveness and convenience prior to being approved for use within the trust. The information contained in the following link gives information on which medications are prescribable within the trust and which medications have prescribing restrictions placed on them. The formulary is updated monthly.

How do you get medicines at the hospital?
If your hospital doctor prescribes you medicines these can be dispensed at the Lloydspharmacy from Monday to Friday.
If you receive an out-patient prescription on a Saturday or Sunday this will be dispensed by the in-patient pharmacy. Any prescriptions dispensed by Lloydspharmacy can only be collected from Monday to Friday.
What happens to your prescription in pharmacy? A pharmacist checks your prescription to ensure that it is safe and appropriate. A discussion may be needed with the doctor before it can be dispensed and some medicines need to be ordered or specially made. This may increase your waiting time.
Will I have to pay?
Normal prescription charges apply to all medicines dispensed for NHS out-patients. If you are entitled to free prescriptions you are asked to sign the prescription and show proof of exemption. Private patients have to pay the full cost of any medicines dispensed.
