Cancer services: appointments and tests

You first appointment

You will be greeted by a nurse who will check your height and weight. You will then meet the team caring for you in oncology who will discuss your illness and proposed care with you. They will arrange for any further tests to be organised and will arrange future appointments.

The direct line number to contact the out-patients receptionists is 020 7830 2084.

Tea and coffee are provided in the waiting room and there is a cafeteria nearby. If there are long delays in the clinic the staff will inform you about this.

Tests

Your first appointment

This will depend on the type of cancer you have and the tests you have already had.

The guides to care and treatment of specific cancers also give information about this.

Information is also available on the Macmillan Cancer Support website in their booklets and facts sheets on specific cancers.
