Infection control - Help us fight infection

Infection control - handwashing The last thing you want when you come into hospital is to get an infection on top of whatever problem you came in for.

Like all hospitals, we need to control a number of different hospital infections, including MRSA. We have a proactive approach to the control of multi-drug resistant organisms, of which this is one, to prevent them becoming established in the hospital.

This includes keeping infected patients apart from others and taking other extra precautions with them as well as enforcing a strict hygiene routine for all patients.

The trust screens relevant patients for MRSA in accordance with our MRSA screening policy.
