Neuromuscular

The Royal Free Hospital has a long and distinguished history of clinical service and research in neuromuscular disorders, which continues to be developed and expanded.

The neuromuscular centre is made up of specialist clinicians and the service manages and accepts referrals for patients with the following main disorders:

  • Motor Neuron Disease
  • Muscle: myopathy, myositis, muscular dystrophy
  • Myasthenia Gravis
  • Nerve: neuropathy

The neuromuscular centre also includes a muscle and nerve biopsy service (patient information leaflets are available). Consultants from the Royal Free Hospital can refer to this service. The service will also accept referrals from general practitioners and hospital doctors in the UK and from abroad.
